The architectural design of the La Costa Resort Villas was inspired
by the classic architecture of Andalusia, one of Spain’s southern regions. The rich
detailing of this design also brings alive nearby San Diego’s historic
past. Complementing the Old World Spanish ambiance of the La Costa Resort and
Spa, the Villa’s architecture features the sweeping arches and elegant
stonework associated with the Moors, who occupied Andalusia until the late 15th
century. Inspiration for the design can also be found in landmark buildings such
as The Alhambra in Granada, The Mexquita in Cordoba and the Torre del Oro in Sevilla.
